A full internal membrane delivers guaranteed waterproof performance while keeping the boot breathable, using the same well-known laminate technology described in more detail under GORE-TEX on Wikipedia. The upper combines a fine synthetic base fabric with a high-resistance textile, laminated with a seamless layer of polyurethane for added breathability; this base fabric, commonly called microfiber, shows up across a wide range of technical footwear. Alpinestars’ integrated Transversal Protection Frame supports the foot against the footpeg while still allowing enough front-foot flex for comfortable walking once you’re off the bike. A reinforced heel counter and toe box, along with an added shift pad layer and reinforced shin area, protect against impacts during the ride. An innovative instep lace adjuster lets riders fine-tune volume around the foot for a more precise, secure fit, while an internal volume adjustment system helps dial in comfort further. The boot’s opening uses a lateral zip mounted on an elasticated panel, covered by a hook-and-loop gusseted flap that protects the zipper while keeping the boot’s flex intact. A new sole unit rounds out the design, aimed at both optimal protection on the bike and genuine comfort for walking at rest stops.
