Weather rarely cooperates on long adventure routes, which is exactly the problem the Alpinestars Maxdura Drystar Xf Laminated Armored Shell Mid Gray/dark Gray was designed to solve. Built as a 3-layer laminated shell, it’s meant to handle sun, rain, and everything between without a wardrobe change.

Because the waterproof membrane is laminated directly to the outer fabric rather than floating as a separate layer, the jacket stays lighter and less bulky while still holding 15,000mm of waterproofing and 15,000 g/m²/24hr of breathability. Shoulders, elbows, and forearms carry reinforced overlays where abrasion resistance matters most, and ventilation zippers open at the torso, biceps, and back to release heat once the pace picks up on technical terrain. Removable Nucleon Flex Pro CE Level 2 protectors cover the shoulders and elbows, striking a balance between flexibility and impact protection, while the mesh comfort liner includes pockets for optional chest and back inserts. The jacket’s cut leaves extra volume through the torso specifically to fit the Tech-Air Off-Road Airbag System, so it’s ready for an upgrade path without needing to be replaced. A shock-cord hem, adjustable cuffs, and forearm volume adjusters dial in the fit, and the jacket carries CE Category II AA Class certification for adventure riding.
