The Alpinestars Gp Race V2 Suit Black/yellow Flou is a multi-layer race suit built for all-round drivers stepping up to advanced levels of competition. It’s certified to FIA Standard 8856-2018 and cut with an athletic regular fit, giving it a suit profile that stays close to the body without limiting range of motion once you’re strapped into a seat.
Construction runs three layers deep: an outer twill weave made from aramid fiber sits over two knit aramid base layers, a combination chosen to raise breathability by roughly 5% compared with standard builds while holding suit weight down to about 400 grams per square meter. That balance matters over a long stint in the car, where heat build-up and bulk can both work against a driver’s focus. Knitted stretch panels are placed at the armholes, lower back and crotch to absorb movement in the areas that see the most flex during hard driving, and the back panel itself has been made larger and longer than a typical cut to support a wider range of upper-body motion. Internal flat seams reduce pressure points against the skin, while a fully floating arm pattern and extended shoulder construction let the arms and shoulders move independently of the rest of the suit. Together, these details are meant to disappear once you’re on track, leaving the driver free to focus on the car rather than the gear.
