Instead of scaling down an adult boot, Alpinestars built this one from the ground up around a youth-specific chassis and scaled shaft height, keeping bulk low and weight properly balanced for a smaller-framed rider. The sole construction traces back to the flagship Tech 10 boot, bringing over 60 years of motocross protection development down to junior sizing. Low-profile medial and lateral pivots allow controlled ankle flex for natural movement, while instep and Achilles accordion flex zones add leverage and control without sacrificing support through hard riding. The one-piece dual-compound foot shell integrates a hard toe protector and steel shank for reinforced protection at the foot and toe, and a contoured shin plate along with a sculpted medial panel, both injected with a high-modulus impact-resistant plastic known formally as thermoplastic polyurethane, shield the shin and inner leg from heat and abrasion.
