Part of Alpinestars’ Honda collaboration line, the Alpinestars Honda Smx Z Drystar Glove Black/bright Red is a short-cuff sport glove that packs a hard knuckle protector into a supple, full-grain goat leather chassis.
A 100% waterproof and breathable internal membrane bonds all the glove’s layers together, cutting down on material bulk to keep sensitivity and dexterity on the bike’s controls as sharp as possible, even in wet weather. The knuckle protector itself is molded from a tough synthetic polymer known for its strength-to-weight ratio; more on this nylon material is available on Wikipedia, and it delivers class-leading impact and abrasion protection at one of the hand’s most exposed points. Suede reinforcements along the side of the hand add strength without stiffening the glove’s flex, drawing on the same soft, durable material described further under suede on Wikipedia. Palm reinforcement improves grip on the bar, and a rolling palm construction at the pinky adds extra abrasion resistance in a spot that takes a lot of contact during a slide.
